Our Goal

Excellence in Genetic Health Care, Education and Research

The faculty and staff in the Division of Medical Genetics provide clinical genetic services at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) and Stanford Hospital and Clinics including general genetics and dysmorphology, metabolic genetics, prenatal genetics and cancer genetics. In addition, we participate in multi-specialty clinics for craniofacial anomalies, Down syndrome, neurogenetics and genetic disorders of the skin.

Our educational programs include a two-year residency in Medical Genetics and a two year Master’s Program in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling. The faculty and staff are also involved in the education of medical students as well as residents and fellows from a variety of specialties.

Our faculty and staff are involved in a wide variety of research projects, collaborating with researchers at Stanford and worldwide. We participate in ongoing projects in mitochondrial disorders, Down syndrome and fetal alcohol syndrome.
